Living Well with ALS: Clumsy Sex and ALS – Guidance for Couples on Intimacy, Romance, and a Spirit of Play
February 11 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
ALS United Greater Chicago invites you to join us for the next installment of our Living Well with ALS series.
“Can love fires burn in caregiver-and-loved-one relationships? I’m here to tell you that it ain’t easy but it’s definitely worth it!
My husband and I have a strong, 35-year, life-affirming marriage. We laugh, cry, speak our truths (even the hard stuff), and are grateful for our evolving partnership. And yet, since ALS moved into our lives, we struggle to balance our roles as patient and caregiver, lovers and partners. It’s hard to prioritize connection and cuddles when the pALS body can’t do what it used to and the cALS has endless laundry to fold!
Please accept this heartfelt invitation to prioritize the emotional connection in your caregiver-loved one dynamic. We’ll share strategies to incorporate romance, intimacy, and a spirit of play despite the challenges. Together we will honor our very real grief and also laugh about Clumsy Sex and ALS.”
Speaker: Linda Levine, M.Ed, B.S. in Recreational Therapy San Jose State University, Faculty Emerita Personal & Professional Coach Specialty areas include: Creating a Meaningful Life, Grief and Loss, Retirement Planning, Caregiver Support, and more.
Following the presentation, our speaker will be available for a Q&A session with attendees. This virtual event is free of charge. For questions about the program, contact Joumana Fawaz-Baroody at joumana@alsunitedchicago.org.
