$40M for ALS Research Protected. Let’s Keep Going.

The ALS community has secured an important win. The Department of Defense’s ALS Research Program (ALSRP) will remain funded at $40 million for fiscal year 2025. At a time when other Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs were defunded entirely, protecting ALS research funding is a significant achievement.

This victory was only possible because of the relentless advocacy of the ALS community. Veterans are twice as likely to develop ALS as civilians, making this funding critical to advancing research for those who have served our country and everyone affected by this disease.

But the fight is far from over. We must continue pushing for policies that support people living with ALS and their families.
